General Description
We start the route from the Fontetes Square in La Massana, next to the Pal cable car, and follow the track towards Arinsal, taking the first exit at the roundabout. A steep slope during the first 100 m brings us to the upper part of La Massana, where we will take the right branch between two stone houses that leads us to a very flat path with fabulous views of the urban center. We will continue on this path until we reach the road; midway we need to be careful, as there is an area of steps that if you don’t have very good technique it is better to walk. Once we get to the road, we will head towards La Massana until we reach the Fire Station, where we will cross the road to change direction and head towards the Farga Rossell, a steel museum that is one of the best-preserved testimonies of this past in the Pyrenees. We will continue along the Camí Ral, and once on the road, we will go up the Camí de les Gavarres, which is a fairly steep section that is also shared with horses and pedestrians. This path brings us closer to the village of l'Aldosa, a stretch of road to the left will take us to the Camí de La Gonarda. We will continue ascending following the indicated signs until we reach Coll d'Ordino. Once we arrive at Coll d'Ordino, we need to cross the road and begin the descent to the center of the village. We will pass by the Museu de la Miniatura, which houses micro-miniatures made from noble materials like gold and platinum, as well as common materials such as paper, fruit seeds, or grains of rice, handmade by Nicolai Siadristy. This section of the route will allow us to make a small incursion into the old town, visit the Areny Plandolit museum, which is the only example of a manor house in Andorra that has remained intact to this day, and stop for a snack or drink; we also have a very fresh water fountain available at the Plaça Major. We will exit onto the national road G3, and at the roundabout we will take the second exit, a couple more roundabouts lead us to the start of the Camí de Santa Bàrbara towards La Massana. Once we are out of the path, we return to the road, and at the roundabout we will take the 3rd exit towards l'Aldosa. From here we will follow the route in reverse, descending along the Camí de les Gavarres. Upon reaching the road, we will head towards the tennis courts and turning right we will enter the old neighborhood of La Massana which leads us directly back to our starting point. We have arrived and now it’s time to enjoy some of the establishments in the village and regain our strength.
