General Description
Route: Linear path that travels through different trails (GR11, and communal paths marked with yellow dots). It is a high mountain route that has a quite exposed part; care must be taken not to slip on days when the terrain may be damp with grass, and we need to be used to moving on this type of path. Observations: Itinerary where we will find several water springs and pass in front of the Pla de l'Estany refuge both on the way up and down; we will always be moving in open areas and in full sun, and depending on the day we may be surprised, upon reaching the Estanys, that the temperature may be cooler than we thought. Be careful to be at altitude and without vegetation; in summer, the heat and solar radiation can be strong or very strong, so protection is necessary. Ascent: We will leave from the Comapedrosa parking area and start the route passing through a very pleasant environment and different springs, first the picnic area and the Font del Riu Pollós, then the one at Moixó; we will ascend along the track until we find the Font Podrida, where we will follow the path marked with yellow dots and arrive at its pass. We will continue a stretch of descent and will see the Pla de l'Estany refuge, which may be the next stop, where there is also a water source. Here begins the demanding and technical part of the route that will take us to one of the most inhospitable and wild places in the country. The path is always well marked and usually frequented by many people. Descent: On the way down, we will follow the same path as the ascent, although once past the Pla de l'Estany we can descend directly via the forest track, which is a quicker option; however, if we prefer to go through the woods, we can access the left path after the Moixó spring, and it will take us back to where we started today's route, the Comapedrosa parking area.
