Collada del Forat dels Malhiverns

Route: Semi-circular trail that passes through different paths (GR11 and communal paths marked with yellow dots). The first part of the route is uncomplicated and we will move through easy terrain; as we enter the second part, the terrain becomes more challenging and the route goes through high mountain terrain (terrain of scree and large boulders), a very technical area, and the last section until the col has loose stones that slip quite a bit. It is a high mountain route, we must be used to moving on this type of path. Observations: Itinerary where we will find several water sources and on the descent, we will pass by the Refugi del Pla de l'Estany; throughout the ascent and descent of the Collada del Forat dels Malhiverns, we will not find water and we will move through very technical areas of rocky scree. Take care when at altitude and without vegetation; in summer, the heat and solar radiation can be strong or very strong, it is necessary to protect oneself. Ascent: We will leave the parking lot of Comapedrosa and begin the route passing through a very pleasant environment and by some sources, the Font del Riu Pollós, the Moixó, and we will ascend by the track and path until we reach the Pla de l'Estany, where we will take a little-travelled path to the left and climb up this path that will lead us to the beginning of the large tarteras of Malhiverns. We will not leave these enormous boulders until we reach the col; this entire area is marked with yellow dots and milestones, and you must pay close attention to follow the path correctly and not stray. Descent: On the way down, we will follow the same path as the ascent, taking an easier section and winding a bit at the end of the tarteras of Malhiverns to reach the Refugi del Pla de l'Estany; afterwards, a good choice will be to climb a few meters to the collet of the Font Podrida and descend by the path marked with yellow dots until the spring. At this point, we can choose different options to reach the parking lot; the most beautiful is to divert from the track after the Moixó spring to the left path and we go through the forest until we almost reach the parking lot of Comapedrosa.
