General Description
Route: A semi-circular path where we will pass by the Comapedrosa Refuge twice, the route travels along different paths (GR11, GRP and marked communal paths with yellow dots) reaching the peak we have a short ridge section with few complications. The paths are well marked except for the last section after the Comallempla pass where the ridge leading to the peak is not marked. The route passes by the Estany de les Truites and between the two passes we will pass by the Pic del Port Vell, this last ascent area is very little frequented. Observations: Once we leave the Comapedrosa Refuge we will not find water along the route until we pass by this point again on the way down. Take care to be at altitude and without vegetation, in summer the heat and solar radiation can be strong or very strong, protection is needed. Ascent: We will leave the Comapedrosa parking and head towards the Comapedrosa Refuge first via a communal path and then take the GR11 (white and red marks), once at the Comapedrosa Refuge we will head towards the Collado de Comallempla passing in front of the Estany de les Truites, the climb to the pass is not very long and has a moderate gradient, to tackle the last ridge section to the peak we will go through more complex and unmarked terrain, in this area the ground is quite technical and alpine, upon reaching the peak we will have views of the Comapedrosa Valley. (Alt de Comapedrosa, Pic de Sanfons) Descent: We will descend towards the Collado de Sanfons through an unmarked section, once we reach the collado we will continue along the GRP path that will take us to the Comapedrosa Refuge, once there we will descend by the same path we took to get there which will lead us back to the Comapedrosa parking.
