General Description
Route: Linear route that traverses different paths (GR11, GRP, and communal paths marked with a yellow dot); in some final stretches, the ridge is quite broken. The paths are well marked. This route will take us through high mountain terrain; the ridge of Sanfons is the border between the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and the Comunal Park of Valls del Comapedrosa. Observations: Once we pass the Comapedrosa Refuge, we will not find water throughout the route, until we pass by the Refuge again on the way down. Be cautious when at altitude and without vegetation; in summer, the heat and solar radiation can be strong or very strong, so protection is necessary. Ascent: We will leave the Comapedrosa parking lot and head towards the Comapedrosa Refuge first via a communal path and then take the GR11 (white and red markers); once at the Comapedrosa Refuge, we will take the GRP (yellow and red markers) until the Collado de Sanfons. Here we will start climbing the final ridge of Sanfons, the path is marked with yellow dots, and the terrain becomes more technical and alpine during this ridge stretch where we will have great views of the surroundings. (Alt de Comapedrosa, Agulla de Baiau, Pic de Baiau, Roca Entravessada) Descent: On the way down, we will follow the same path as the ascent.
