General Description
Route: Circular route along communal paths marked with a yellow point, and on some sections, along a wider path. The paths are well marked throughout the route. The route is uncomplicated despite having some inclined sections. We will spend a large part of the time within the forest and in a quite fresh and shady area, protected from the sun in summer and cold and damp in winter. Remarks: There will be no water sources until we reach half the route, at Caubella (Pal Vallnord ski resort) or in the village of Escàs. Be careful, as these are shared paths with MTB practitioners; during peak times (weekends, summer...) it is not a very good time to access. Ascent: We will leave from the center of La Massana and head towards Arinsal along the sidewalk until we reach the metal bridge on the left that gives access to the mountain path. Here we will start climbing through the forest with plenty of viewpoints of the surrounding mountains. (Pic de Casamanya, Roc de la Cauba, Alt del Coma Pedrosa, Valls de Prat Primer and Perafita, la Tossa del Braibal, Alt del Griu and Pic de Carroi) We will continue climbing along a wider path until we reach the road, which we will need to cross carefully, and soon we will arrive at the Pal Vallnord station where we will find an ideal area to take a break. (Picnic-Restauranción) Descent: The descent begins on the side of the road until we access on the right the mountain path marked with a yellow point, sharing some sections at the beginning with MTB practitioners. The descent is almost entirely through the forest that will lead us to the small and splendid village of Escàs where we will find a water source. From here we will continue descending until we reach the center of La Massana to complete the circular route.
