Roca Entravessada

Route: Linear route that travels along different paths (GR11, and communal paths marked with yellow dots). It is a high mountain route that has some quite exposed sections and another final section to reach the summit that is very technical and involves some climbing; care must be taken on days when it may be wet to avoid slipping on the grass or the final rock slopes of the Pic. We should be used to moving in this type of terrain. Very technical route. Notes: We will find several springs along the way, and both when ascending and descending, we will pass in front of the refuge of Pla de l'Estany. We will mostly move in open areas, in full sun, although it depends on the day; once we reach Estanys Forcats, the temperature may be cooler than we thought. Take note that until early summer, the final area of the collada dels Estanys Forcats often has hard snow in the final crossing. Be cautious that at high altitude and without vegetation in summer, the heat and solar radiation can be strong or very strong; protection is necessary. Ascent: We will leave from the Comapedrosa parking lot and take the road Prat del Riuder; here we will find the Berenador and the spring of the Riu Pollós. We ascend via this path that connects us with the forest trail of Pla de l'Estany, which we will follow, alternating with sections of narrow path to reach the refuge of Pla de l'Estany. At this point, we will find the last source of water. We will now begin to climb towards Estanys Forcats; this section consists of steep ascents, and from this moment, the route takes on an increasingly alpine tendency and we will pass through some quite exposed areas, we need to pay attention. Once we reach the Cabana dels Forcats, the terrain will be occupied by rock fields that we will not leave until Collada dels Estanys Forcats; now we will face the last and difficult rocky climb and some climbing of IIº to reach Roca Entravessada. From the summit, we will have unforgettable views; looking north, Pic de Medacorba, and looking south, Alt de Comapedrosa. Descent: On the way down, we will follow the same path as we ascended.
