Llacs del Comapedrosa
General Description
The park is part of the hydrographic network of the Arinsal valley and the main watercourse is the Pollós River, which originates from the various rivers and streams that descend from the high mountain (mainly the rivers of Comapedrosa and the Pla de l’Estany). It is worth highlighting, due to its spectacularity, the waterfalls of the Pollós and Comapedrosa rivers. The following link shows the basic hydrology of the park. The lakes are a very important element within surface hydrology. In the park, up to six different clusters of lakes can be distinguished, including the highest in the country (specifically the lake of Més Amunt dels Forcats, located at 2,714 m, is the highest in Andorra). It is important to note the existence, within the park, of two communal water intakes (Pla de l’Estany and les Fonts), which are part of the communal water supply network and, therefore, have a very high public interest.
