La Gran Fita
General Description
Sculpture by Joan Canal (Berga). Iron structure that surrounds three stones: “one comes from the gravel beds of Comapedrosa, another from the Valira river, and the last, the roundest, from the sea.” They are three traveling stones that symbolize the journey stones take from the gravel beds to the sea. The artist explains that he found inspiration in a large stone weighing about a hundred tons that he had always seen as a child in the river. Over the years, this large stone had moved a hundred meters and during its journey, it began to round and flatten out. The 2nd milestone of Comapedrosa is a long journey from the summit to the sea. The sculpture that crowns the highest peak in Andorra, Comapedrosa, is situated amidst a panoramic orientation table that shows hikers the entire surroundings of Andorra's highest peak.
