"To admire the living conditions of a wealthy Andorran family from centuries ago is quite a privilege. The conservation and restoration of Casa Rull allows us to return to the past and appreciate the importance of Andorran houses in a mountain society. Casa Rull symbolizes the living history of a country that always finds a way to pay homage to its own. The house was built in the 17th century and transformed as the family evolved. In the 19th century, the dwelling suffered a fire that caused further reforms to the house. This museum brings you closer to the way of life of a farming family with land, at a time when farming and livestock were the economic basis of Andorran rural society. You will learn firsthand how Andorran families operated, their organization, and the distribution of tasks and obligations within the home. Casa Rull was one of the most important houses in the parish of La Massana. Its former inhabitants, the Perich family, represent a clear example of a lineage of landowning farmers (in Catalan called pagesos grassos) from the Pyrenees. Under its roof lived heirs and heiresses, knights and ladies, servants and maidens, whose lives bear witness to the various periods of prosperity and hardship that the family experienced throughout history. Casa Rull is part of the Rural Habitat itinerary of Andorra. Services: Guided tour with prior reservation or self-guided with audio guide. Duration: 1 hour. The museum also has a shop inside and offers activities and workshops for schoolchildren. Additionally, it has an audiovisual room and a multimedia classroom.
