FCO. JAVIER LÓPEZ & ESTER SÁNCHEZ (ESP)
Organ & transverse flute with works by Bach, Händel, Vivaldi, Blavet, Torres and Bédard
Program note:
Libra, the constellation of the Scales, is the only one in the zodiac that does not represent a living being, but a symbol: measure, proportion, balance. In the musical firmament of the Baroque, this principle is translated into sound architecture, formal symmetry and a constant dialogue between tensions and resolutions.
The program draws a celestial map where France, Italy, Germany and Spain shine like stars of the same constellation. The sonatas by Händel, Blavet, Vivaldi and Bach show the diversity of European styles, but share the same search for order and eloquence. Fugue, dance and contrasting movement are the axes of a universe regulated by almost mathematical laws.
